1 out of 5 stars I still have not received the book..and its been over 6 weeks now!   December 16, 2008

What a horrible customer experience. I have still not received the book after almost 6 weeks. The company sending the book is not Amazon (a 3rd party company) and it is impossible to get a hold of the company for them to even tell me where the book is. There is no phone number to cal, only a generic email address that never gets responded to. I thought Amazon was all about the customer. What a dissapointment!

5 out of 5 stars revealing book   December 14, 2008
If you ever start to doubt what you do for a career, you should read this book and take the quiz to reveal your 5 strengths. You'll probably be surprised - it's a very helpful guide to helping you realize what you're good at and how you know you're good at it. It's also very empowering - everyone is good at some things. And everyone is not good at some things - and this book says you shouldn't worry so much about those things that you're not good at. What an amazing concept!

5 out of 5 stars StrengthsFinder 2.0   December 12, 2008
This was an excellent book. It was an interesting read as well as a fun one because when you identify your strengths and read about them, they describe you to a T.

4 out of 5 stars Get out of my head!   December 8, 2008
Wow, some books find you on your voyage of discovery. Who are you and where do you fit in is a question many of us seek as the times they are a changing. The book is a quick read and done in a couple of hours if you simply want to learn more about yourself. The Strength Finder test and the attributed descriptions nailed me to the core. My wife and friends were laughing as I read it out loud to them, sometimes finishing the author's sentences. Very funny, very very insightful and the right book for those that need a reminder of their strengths of their true nature. This can only help make you happy. That's right, who knew you can find strength, opportunity and happiness by being true to who you are.

5 out of 5 stars What are the strengths YOU can rely on?   December 7, 2008

This book starts with a quote, that says a lot:

"Hide not your talents. They for use were made. What's a sundial in the shade?"
-- Benjamin Franklin

Franklin's quote represents the overarching theme of StrengthsFinder 2.0 This "book" is really a test that helps you identify your top five strengths from 34 possibilities, in the hope that you can have the opportunity to do what you do best every day.

Chances are, you don't. For most people, our natural talents go untapped, especially at work. Our society has taught us to focus on fixing our shortcomings, rather than developing our strengths. To help people uncover their talents, Gallup introduced the first version of the StrengthsFinder in the 2001 management book Now, Discover Your Strengths. The book spent more than five years on the bestseller lists.

In StrengthsFinder 2.0 Gallup unveils a new and improved version of its popular assessment. While you can read this book in one sitting, you'll use it as a reference for decades. It's loaded with hundreds of strategies for applying your strengths, and helps you to understand those around you who have strengths and tendencies that are different from your own.

My other favorite book that includes an online test and has been a huge help to me at work and at home is The Emotional Intelligence Quick Book.
